Abstract

In chapter IX, we put into relief the contrast that exists between the fact that in practical life we always rely on the law of causality, even base the security of our life on it, and that, on the other hand, we have not succeeded in formulating the law of causality in such a way that anything certain about our experiences can be deduced from it.
